......since I've posted!

Well, a lot has changed since I was last on.
We had our baby girl Heidi.
Man, is she the center of our universe right now. Everything we do revolves around this little bitty person.
We just love her to death!
She is getting bigger and stronger. (she'll be driving the car pretty soon since she's already supporting her head really well. And boy does she have strong legs and one hell of a grip.)

Maternity leave is going well. It's weird not working or having a fixed schedule. Some days, well most days, I have no idea what day it is. I have so many Ellen episodes to catch up on since around that time in the morning is either nursing, pooping, or napping together time.
I'm gonna dread my first full day back. Until then, I am going to enjoy every minute, even in the wee early hours of the morning with her!

The animals are doing well.....they would probably tell you differently though!!
I often wonder what is going through their minds. Something like this.... "who the hell invited her?" "what's with all the damn screaming?" " where's my food already?" " can we go for a walk, ALONE?" " I just wanna lick her sooooo bad"

As most of you already know, Heidi has her own blog. Please check in from time to time for there will be plenty of updates with stories and pictures. Daddy is quite comical with the stories and often makes me laugh my ass off. Gotta love poop stories, or not?

So begins the putting together of the crib. What was nice is that we got it from a friend of ours, Pam and Ken, who already had the majority of it put together (Thank God) and we just had to set up the sides, bottom and the drawer.
Here you will see Libby was the only family member who really gave a crap about the directions.
Zoey's just making sure Mike is putting all the screws in the right place.

Libby was soooooo tired from reading all the directions in all 40 languages.
Yup, she's still under there, making sure the blankets don't move.
Our blanket theme is called Enchanted Forest.

So tomorrow is the start of my 32nd week of pregnancy.
That's right, I have 8 weeks left to go, or however long it is little B here wants to cook.

So far things have been great, but I have noticed that she is taking up more room and making me a little uncomfortable.
OH and today I almost couldn't get my wedding ring off my finger I was so swollen. Yeah, I had to suck my finger to lube it up in order to get the sucker off. That was lovely!!

So I have decided to update my blog, once I figured out my user name and password that is, because it's be FOREVER since I posted.

So let's see....mmmm.....where to begin....
I'm sure all of my devoted readers (HA!) get informed on Mikey's blog with what's up with our lives here.
But I will fill you on the small details he may have missed....being a guy and all, they are bound to do that from time to time.

*With baby, everything is still going very well and I feel pretty good. I am starting my 6th month now. That went fast, huh?? We had an appointment last week and everything is on schedule and measuring out right where it should.
*I have to say that I am proud of myself and have to pat my own back for not eating for two, literally. That's a bunch of crap anyways, and I think way too many women take that seriously and then hate the end results. Now don't get me wrong, I splurge just like the rest of them, but not in mass quantities.
*OK, so enough about me. I swear, baby is going to be either a karate kid, a kung fu master or an interior designer/remodel person. Holy cow!! She really gets crazy in there.
*The nursery is coming along, slowly. We should be getting our crib bedding set this thursday and I can't wait!! Then it will be painting, again.
*We went on a tour Monday night of the birth place at the hospital. It makes things less scary when you've seen them and can say, "oh, that's where it will happen, that's where we go, that's what we do, blah blah blah" So check that off the list.
*I finally broke down yesterday and went to the maternity store to buy some jeans. So far I have been in my regular pants/shirts, but I'm starting to show and need a little more room.

*OK, speaking of painting, again. We just got done, a few weeks ago, with updating our bedroom.
*We purchased a KING size bed....Ah YEAH!!! It's amazing! I highly recommend them. We also painted too. Bye, bye red wall, it's been fun. Now we have toned things down a bit by staying in the brown family, and it looks really good.
*We also got a new, funky patterned chair/ottoman for the living room. It really opens the space a lot. We have found a new home for the love seat and recliner. They were just too big for our smaller living room.
*Hopefully Mikey will be starting soon on the granite counter tops and my new kitchen sink (once we pick one out)...I can't wait for that either.

I am 13 weeks old and not revealing my "private area" yet. So I'm gonna keep everyone in suspense for a few more weeks. I love my comfy home. I get to stretch my legs and practice my boxing. That's right folks!! We're having a BABY!!!
As of right now, our EDD is May 12th, 2009.

We heard the heartbeat for the first time last week at our first appointment. That was really awesome and something we both were looking forward to as another reassurance that we were truly pregnant!! (even though I'm a big wimp when it comes to blood and myself, I did really well, even after being poked in both arms! Yeah me!)

So we will keep updates as things progress!!

Damn it all!!!
My streak as been broken!
In all my 8 years in the field of veterinary medicine, I have never received a bite that sent my to the urgent care.
Well, this weds was the day.
This ancient chow/lab mix was in to be put to sleep. She was known for being a little pissy and aggressive.
So we were placing her IV catheter (which went smooth-thank you very much) and following that we wanted to take her picture. We send out a magnet for some of our clients as a memento for their pet.
Any who, so in the process of taking off her muzzle for her picture and then trying to get it back on to check her bleeding catheter out, she chomped down -quite hard- on my right hand, index finger.
Yeah.....that was a doozie!!!
So here I am, bandaged up, on antibiotics, doing pretty well I might say.
At least it wasn't my face!!

Winery Tour

Cannon River Winery in Cannon Falls. We tried 11 different wines here. It was converted from an old mechanic's shop. We picked up a few bottles.

Alexis Bailley Winery in Hastings. This is the oldest winery in MN. It was est. in 1973. We tried 9-10 different reds, white, ports and blushes.
We ate lunch here on the back porch that was covered with grape vines. We also picked up a few bottles from here.

We also went to the Falconer Winery in Red Wing. We tried a few here as well. No pictures though, Ma thought it was kind of "dumpy". The owner won a bunch of awards and gold medals for his wine. He works with the UofM with their R & D dept. in search for new grapes/wines.

Our air is back on! Thank God!

With the recommendation from Kirby, we had Controlled Air out of Farmington come today and check our air conditioner.
After much looking and checking and double checking and checking all the neighbors units, it sounded like our breaker to the air conditioner was tripped or something like that?
Everything else, inside and out, was working fine, with the exception of low freon. So we had that refilled and the guy said that low freon alone was worth the trip out because that makes a world of difference getting that refilled.

Well, with the new year comes resolutions.
This is the first year I actually got started on my resolution early and have been pretty good about stickin' with it, so far!
Mike and I joined LA Fitness. It's a stone's throw away from our house. Easy to stop by on the way home from work or going to on the weekends. We have also recruited Jason, Suzie, Eric and Liz.
Suzie and I have met up a few times and decided that some of the machines need to be renamed for those of us who need to get right down to business on our target areas.

Laynie is jumping in a fit of joy for her new bathtub cabbage patch kid, Berenice.
This is our really screwed up Nativity scene that we individually received from Santa....... we're still confused. (the fish was placed there and is not, I repeat not, playing the role of baby Jesus!)
It's a baby Wyatt!! Isn't he the cutest! He had a little paperboy-style hat, but Laynie didn't like it on him. during pictures.
The traditional family picture. This consisted of trying to get both children happy enough to sit still for the picture. At this point in the evening, Laynie was running around and did not want to sit still at all. So Uncle Mikey to the rescue, he was throwing her up, up, up in the air and told her he would do some more if she sat still. As you can see, his plan worked!!
Here Laynie is giving diaper-shy Uncle Mikey a few pointers on how to correctly put the diaper on the child's bottom and not on it's head as he originally thought. As Laynie said " NOOOO!"

Chicago Christmas

This was our first time using the chocolate fountain. I think we had the chocolate/oil ratio way, way wrong because it did not flow right. It was thick and cool, tasted great though! We were dipping fruit, graham crackers and marshmallows in it.
I wanted to start a new tradition with the kids when we are together for x-mas. So, we loaded up in the car after dinner and went looking for the best lit houses in the neighborhood. We were out for about 15 minutes or so. Ran into a dead end, saw a landing strip for Santa and a drive-in style movie in someone's yard, playing none other than Miracle on 34th Street. Then we went back and opened presents.
Lexi played her trombone for us this year on Christmas morning. She played Jingle Bells and even did a slide move on the "all the way, hey!" part. It was really good. Sounds like she is planning on switching to clarinet next year.

Today was such a beautiful fall day, and what better way to enjoy it than to get out and get my ride on with my new, pretty red, front suspension (big deal, right) Specialized Rockhopper!!!
I went out with Mikey and Pete, per usual, to Murphy, per usual. I have to say that today I felt like a big turd. Normally I am, what I like to consider "The Juicy Caboose". But today was different because I was really lagging behind. Then it came to me mid-ride, "Gee, I wonder if it was the pound or more of Halloween candy I consumed last week that is holding me down?" Damn you peanut butter cups!!

*Last Sat. Zoey and I went to our first Pug Party at the Burnsville Petco. Holy Cow! I have never in my life seen that many pugs together in one room. Luckily, I had to only watch the 4 black ones to see where Zoey was. That was nice. Unlike my friend Becky, who has 2 fawn colored ones, she had to pay attention to all the other 20 some pugs to see where hers were.

*Jason and Suzie asked us to be "little baby boy's" god parents!! We are excited and can't wait until he's here so we can hug and kiss the little guy to death. Baptism is in Jan. I'll be the one up front, crying I'm sure, holding the baby.

*We're heading to Chicago this weekend to visit Mike's family. We originally we're going to a White Stripes concert, but they cancelled their dates due to acute anxiety on Meg's part.

*My friend Lindsey is having a Skateville, yes, SKATEVILLE birthday party this friday night, should be a blast. I have to convince Mikey to go and skate for awhile before we can leave for Chicago.

*I got a new bike. I have yet to get out on it. I'm been getting over a head cold, and it's been raining and I have to get the handlebars adjusted correctly.

*Did I mention that I'm glad Mike's back from UT? Well I am!

*We are going to be getting a new washer and dryer. Our washer went our last week during a wash cycle and didn't drain the water or spin the clothes. It was a pain to hand ring them out. We went and looked at models last night and picked out a sweet Maytag pair. Isn't it funny what you become excited about as an adult? Yeah, washer and dryer! Tile floors! New carpet! 20% off at Bed Bath and Beyond! Coupons for groceries!

Here we go....

I have joined in on a few Mtn. bike adventures with Mikey and Pete. They go everyday, ok, maybe that's just Mikey. But I have had a good time on those I have tagged along on.
A few places we have gone are: Harmon Park in IGH, Murphy Hanrehan in P.L. and the River Bottoms in Bloomington.
Harmon is a nice, easy course. Murphy is a little tougher, but offers up a lot of different terrain, which I like. And the R.B. are cool. Talk about big, old, beautiful trees. They are like the ones in the Lost Forty up north. You do have to keep in mind the mosquitoes are horrible!!!! So the best thing to do is KEEP GOING!!! Oh, and mud is fun, right Pete?? We only went in 5.3 miles to the raft. The small river it was on was too shallow, so we couldn't pass. So we headed back. Next time!! And next time we'll bring a damn camera!! Right guys?? =)

Going back a ways, Labor Day weekend consisted of 2 events for us. One was a bonfire night at my brother's and the other was James' Patio Party. We had a good time at both events. Played Hammerschlagen for the first time. Now all Mike can think about is getting a log. Oh boy!!

We stayed home that weekend because Mike was on call for work. I felt like a lazy ass, so I was strangely ready to go back to work. (you've heard it here people, I've lost my mind!) We did take a, what we are calling, a mini metro adventure to the Vermillion River Gorge in Hastings. It's a pretty neat little hike along the Vermillion River by the Con-Agra Mill and Vermillion Falls.
My brother-in-law Rob, jumped out of a plane for his 39th birthday, Sept 2nd. He said it was a blast and can now cross that off his "Things to do before I die" list. Way to go!!

We did not make it to the State Fair this year....big f$#king bummer! AND now there's talks that we won't make it to the Ren Fest either....what the F$#k???

We went to my old co-worker, Jackie's wedding this last weekend at Murphy's Landing in Shakopee. It was a beautiful day to start, then turned crappy, right before they walked down the aisle! But she and Matt looked gorgeous and better yet, I didn't have to talk or sit at dinner with my old boss. Ya know why? Because he ditched out...what a jerk! So Lisa and I danced like fools and partied until 10:15...yeah we know how to stay out late!

Oh I got my hair cut (we chopped off 4.5 inches) and colored it one shade lighter then my natural color....which is dark brownish. Suzie says it will fade fast and that my blonder highlights will show through as it does.

Banning State Park

Yeah for State Parks!

We went to a really nice one this past weekend, Banning State Park.

It is located just 15 miles north of Hinckley on the beautiful Kettle River.

We were pleasantly surprised with the campground, shower/restrooms, hiking trails and our campsite.

We were in lucky #7. A short distance from the showers/toliets and trail heads.

We even scoped out the other tent sites and found a few that we liked if we ever come back, which I'm sure we will.

We did a few days of hiking and had a good time. Not alot of bugs, thanks to Mosquito Patrol!!

Lets see if I can make up for some lost time of keeping y'all posted with what's up in my mundane life......where to start.....

*we took the new boat out 2 weeks ago for the 1st time. We had a good time, but the trolling motor wasn't charge so we couldn't fish near shore. So we ate pretzels, drank soda and took a few laps around Lake Marion.

*We went to see my nephew in 3d/4d (by the way, what is the 4th dimension anyways?) But it was pretty neat. He kept opening/closing his mouth, hiding behind his arm and farting so loud and forcefully we could see the movement on Suzie's belly. Just like his daddy...ahhhhh

*We went biking at Harmon Park Reserve in IGH. We had a good ride with Pete, Anne and Scott (and his weimeriner, Lucy) It's a nice course, about 4.3 miles. It has a north and south loop. I took a corner too quick and my front tire got sucked into the sand in the path and BOOM...I was eating sumac trees. Good times.

*We (Mikey, Pete and I) also biked Terrace Oaks. That's a nice loop too in Eagan.

*We attended my work's Lake Party at my boss' lake house on Spring Lake in P.L. We had a good showing of people. Only a few couldn't make it. The day was hotter than (insert a quote Mikey usually thinks of for how hot/cold/crazy/strange something is compared to something else....he's so wacky clever with those things) But we had a little boat problem with the motor not starting due to sand/muck in the motor. Not to worry, it's all good now. Zoey went swimming. She did a few laps around the boat in her new life jacket.

*We had to return her new life jacket because a buckle strap loop busted. We went to Cabela's to return in. We did not get her another one because there was only that one brand. No good. So we had dinner at Perkins in Owatonna. It was yummy. And they are turning the Owatonna Hotel into Senior Living...crazy, I know.

*We had a garage sale at the beginning of the month. We made a load of cash that helped pay for the repair of the impeller motor thing on the boat. We still haven't received the $500 check from Papa to help pay for that because he gave it to my MIL to give to us....bad mistake Papa, bad mistake.

*I opened a Facebook account. I still have a crush on myspace though. It's just so comfortable and we've been together for awhile now, but we agreed that is was ok for us to see other people.

*First car payment was paid on the 9th. Wow do I miss NOT having a car payment. But I do love Ruby Vroom. She is so choice!!

*Mikey and I are heading camping this weekend. We are planning on going to the statefair the morning before we go ( if Mike really cares for me he will agree to go) Who can resist cheese curds, gator on a stick, Haunted House, wiggers, mini donuts, people watching, tractor hill, 4H club and the states blue ribbon oatmeal raisin cookie winner from the Jay Leno show??? Come on now.....

*We hope to not go broke this month due to all of our nieces (on the Boehnlein side) being born this month. The 8th, 20th and the 28th. We will have a break until Oct when...what's his name again Jason and Suzie? is born. Which brings me to..

* I can't wait for my nephew to be born.

Yes! We finally got me (us) some new wheels!!
It's a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT Sport.
We got it Tues July 10th. We drove it off the lot with 10 miles on it. That's crazy! I can offically say that was the first time doing that for me.
It smells wonderful and has that same red on the inside as out. (center console and the seats)
We'll wait to see what the letters are on the license plates before we give it a name.
We really like it and it proved to us that it was a good buy over the long trip to Bemidji last weekend.

We had such a fun time when we went to see our family in Oshkosh.

We got to see all of our nieces and nephew when we were there.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of them.

This is little Miss Molly Mae, and she is such a good baby. She turns 1 in August. She looks just like what her mommy did when she was that age. She is so happy, never cried once. Except when uncle Mikey picked her up. But we figured it was because of his facial hair, who knows. She got over it though.

Here's Molly and her oldest cousin, our niece, Lexi. She is such a good babysitter, always checking on Molly when she was napping. Lexi can't to be a mommy of 3 children someday. She will be 9 this August.

This is little Haley. She is going to be 5 in August. She is 6 lbs lighter than her older sister, Lexi. They wear the same clothes. Haley has an appetite that puts her uncle's to shame. She is a bottomless pit. She is also very smart and full of sass. She is so darn cute and such a whiner all at the same time.

And here's Drew. He is in love with Barney and The Wiggles. He is going to be 8 in March. He was quite the handful this vacation, but all in all he was a good boy. Always handing out hugs.
He is quite the swimmer too. Confident enough to swim to the deep end. That got an earful from the lifeguard....what he did was went beyond the ropes. He had a good time.

Aug 1978-June 2007

Paul was one of my first cousins on my dad's side.

He lived in Arkansas.

He's pictured here with his little boy Michael.

We, as a family, had lost contact for many years after my Uncle Don past away in 91'.

It wasn't until my cousin Penny (thank you) got in touch and opened all of our eyes to the fact that it was just stupid not to be in touch.

So, last October we made the road trip down to Arkansas to see my family. I don't remember the last time I had seen them. It was that long, crazy huh? I was pretty young, maybe 7-9 years old....not sure.

I remember one time when we were little at Grandma and Grandpa's when he and my Aunt Carol and Uncle Don came to visit. We were inseperable partners in crime. I remember even picking up on his southern accent. I thought it was so neat that they talked with a twang.

I will miss him. I wil miss the years that we lost. I will miss not getting to know the man he became.

I will, however, cherish the time we did spend together last fall. The pictures we took, the stories that we shared. I am so glad we made the trip and got to see each other.

Mike and I headed down to good ole' Tyler, MN (google it people) to visit and celebrate my Grandma's 85th birthday this past weekend.

The weather was frickin' AWESOME. Thank God because the last time we went down there, it rained like crazy. Well the wind is always wiping because it is "the wind capital of the midwest".

We had a few of the close relatives over to here house for lunch, cake, beer and sitting outside watching the Harley bikers ride by. We all had a nice time. We ate way too much food, as we all do when we get together with anybody.

I took Mike around Lake Benton (again, google it) to show him where my grandparent's farm was, the lake, the old hotel...things like that. Then we did the traditional cemetary drive by to pay our respects to the relatives.

I love my Grandma. She is one crazy lady, but in a good way. She has always been a pillar of strength, truth, loyalty, faith and love. She is hardworker who is dedicated to her community, family and friends. She had quite the personality, always kidding around, making fun of herself, "cutting a rug" as one might say.

Anywho....we had a great weekend.

So Zoey and I have been having a lot of "Mommy and me" days since I started my new job and have Tuesdays off.
Granted we have been sleeping in on those days, we do get a lot done.
We have been checking out a lot of things available to us right here close to home in good ole Apple Valley/Burnsville/Eagan area. Most of the things we have discovered we would like to explore more when Daddy has a day off and can join us.
We have checked out Terrace Oaks. They have some nice hiking/biking trails and a neat-o ice hockey rink with a gate so we can play ball....OFF LEASH...high five!
We have also checked out Lebanon Hills. Again, they have nice hiking/biking trails and the scenery is like being somewhere else. Except for the distant noise of traffic and the occasional airplane over head, you would think you were elsewhere, like ohhh, let's say, Glacier Nat'l Park! Ok that may be a bit extreme, let's say, up north Minnesoootah!
We have also checked out the local Dakota County campground located within Lebanon Hills. It's pretty nice. It has 20 or so tent campsites with hook up/water/electric/fire rings. We like site 79. It's tucked back in the woods with a nice driveway to park the jeep. Another spot in the heart of the city that we never knew was there and again feels like you're somewhere else.
I think a camping weekend to the great outdoors located in none other than Apple Valley we would be pretty nice. Just think, we wouldn't use a lot of gas getting there, we would be close to home if we forgot something and we can all say we went camping a lot this summer. Just a thought.
Shout out to DQ for the cute doggy ice cream cup Zoey got today. She shoved her whole head inside the cup.....

Hey ohhhhh!!

Sunday was beautiful!! I got up early, walked the dog in the ghetto that is our neighborhood, or at least what it's turning into. Garbage areas are being destroyed, back windshields are being smashed, electrical boxes are losing their fronts and are being thrown in the middle of the road. Did I mention the homeys that are walking the paths with their pants that are obviously being held up by, no not a belt, but their wienies!!
Any who....
Then I went to Pahls market to get some flowers. Yeah, I love spring!
I got home and started planting.... 1 hour later.... I AM FRIED!! I, of course, being of Norwegian/German blood, am as white as Mel...I mean white as a ghost....fried my shoulders. Do I learn? Sure, after it hurts to lay in bed because it leaves wrinkle marks in my freshly scorched shoulder skin. I am a dumb ass, but the flowers look awesome.
Then my ma came over and we went to Menards and Pahls again.
Mike was on call for work and couldn't leave the house and computer in case something wrong happened at the stores....sucky!
Then Mel and Corey came over for a BBQ dinner. Mmmm Mmmm turkey burgers!

Hey everybody.....

Mike and I had a nice Saturday.
We went for a bike ride to and from my new work once I got off work of course. We found the fastest route being ~3 miles and it takes ~20 minutes. That's depending on stop lights of course and the wind (that happened to be at our faces the entire time).
When you go biking with Mike, it's always windy and always coming straight at you!
Right Hun?
Then we got home, shit, showered and shaved and then it was off to Kohls (for what seems like the 7th time in the last week, damn those damn sales!!)
We did get a firepit chiminea. It's really cute and fits in perfectly on our patio. We did end up having a fire last night, after making a trip back to get a different one because of a missing piece. How weird, the box didn't even have a scratch on it, so I figured it was A-OK. I was way wrong! So when we got the one we have now, we opened the box at Kohls and checked it thoroughly!
But anywho, it's really cute and is a perfect way to satisfy our need for bonfire, city style!
We did take the dog to Lake Nokomis and had a nice walk. Lots of people, lots of dogs, lots of planes....geez, they were loud as hell (duh, they are planes).
Zoey did pretty well. She went swimming for the 1st time. She did scare the shit out of herself when she went to far and realized her feet weren't touching the bottom.
Then it was off to the 5-8 Club for a delicious Juicy Lucy!! Oh how we love thee!

Yeah so I suck, I'll admit it, I'm not the greatest at remembering to blog.
Lots to update......so I'll make it short and pretty sweet tasting, like homemade caramels!!!

** I'm in my 2nd week of my new job. Love it! Love the nice commute (~8 mins) I have yet to get out on my bike, but I'm waiting for warmer weather. Love my schedule, love my fellow and very helpful co-workers. My boss is nice which is....nice!
** Our house smells and looks great thanks to the new carpet and wood floors. Love it all!]
Big shout out to Corey B for the help on the floors.....it's...nice!!
** Can't wait to start planting my flowers...once I get them of course. That will be a big chunk of change since flowers are not cheap unless you grow them yourself from seeds....can't do that without a greenhouse...Mike would not approve.
** I can't wait for camping. We have, so far, 2 trips planned. Memorial weekend and July camping in Bemedji. Yeah Haw!! Hopefully the dog will be a good camper.
** I am recently and helplessly devoted to Cookies and Cream ice cream....damn you Kemps!!
** The cat knocked over my porcelain angel that I got from my grandma during one of our new favorite shows "Thank God you're Here" Damn cat, should have left you out the other night.
Thank God it didn't land on the wood, instead it landed on the ever startling concrete by the front door and shattered onto the wood. Yikes....Mike pooped his pants a little!! (j/k hun)
** I love the show Medium.
** Still thinking about getting a new car even though I work less than 10 mins from home. Maybe a hybrid that I can plug in/gas up and feel good about because I won't be putting so much CO2 in the air. It's something I'm throwing around.
** Can't wait to have our summer garage sale. I'm thinking sometime in May when other Apple Valley neighborhoods are advertising their garage sales.....to be continued.....
** We broke down and got a storage unit just across the street. We already have lots of stuff over there. It's helps to get it out of the garage though. Now what about the boat?? (j/k hun)

Well....here are just a few things....

***I've been painting like a crazy mad woman, as you may have been updated on Mikey's blog. I have so far painted the living room wall, the 2nd bathroom and our bedroom. Brown was a pain in the arse!! For some crazy reason the roller left behind what looked like "bubble" marks, so I had to do a 2nd coat. THEN, the tape came off and took some paint with it....ARGH!!! Had to touch that up with one of my craft brushes. It looks good though with the red wall. It makes the room look a little bit smaller but yet more cozy. I like it alot.
***Zoey graduated from school yet again tonight. And is currently being yelled at by daddy for probably chewing on something inappropriate-like her bed, DOH!!
***We have a sweet dog house/snow igloo on our patio you should come check out sometime. Hurry folks, the warm weather is just around the corner, that is until the 2nd coming of the STORM OF THE CENTURY tomorrow. Blah....I'll believe it when I see it....like the 16-24 inches in our front yard from the first storm last weekend....yeah right!
***Speaking of last weekend, we got our new furniture. It is very nice and we love it. It's very comfy and cozy and brown and suede-like and smells new and goes well with the decor in the living room and the recliner is too big and is in the loft right now. It will be nice for rocking babies to sleep.....huh?
***Speaking of babies, have you tried Raising Cane's Chicken fingers? It is awesome, as you may have heard from Mikey who hates chicken fingers!! ( that's a joke ya'll)
***Happy National Eating Disorder Week.
***We have been replacing our old light fixtures with new ones that we got from Menards. Things are starting to look good around here...finally I say, after almost 3 years being here. Mike says "better late than never to earn a penny save a penny?!"
***We love, love, love the President's Day Sale commercial for Chevy and we love their need to have it extended to the end of the month.
***Haagen Dazs fat free Strawberry Sorbet is awesome.
***I've been thinking about a new job/new location.....to be continued.....
***We saw Pete and Anne's new house on Sat. It is so cute you guys. I hope your first night went ok and that you weren't too scared of the upstairs hidden door to the attic. Hopefully you christened the house with.......sweat.....from playing the Wii all night long!
***Mike and I are heading to The Myth nightclub tomorrow night for the Wolfmother concert. Should be a blast, I'm sure you'll get a report from Mike.
*** I can't wait for our new floors.....get ready Corey! :) The carpet is going to be history to make way for hardwood and hopefully very soon. I guess Ants love snowy days and new furniture too, because "THEY'RE BACK!!" Damn it all!

Another Room....

Well, I have been on the painting bandwagon now for the past two weekends. I have successfully painted yet another room. The small bathroom said goodbye to the sun & moon wall paper border and hello to a fresh coat of vibrant yellow. It is " knock your socks off" yellow. It's perty!! Through out the day I would emerge from the bathroom for a diet mt. dew break and everything around me looked so dull. Then my eyes would adjust and everything was ok.
Anywho, next up for painting is the upstairs bathroom. We haven't decided on a color yet. It's between doing an accent wall (maybe the wall with our vanity/toliet/over the john) of a soft, natural green and painting the other walls with a neutral tan or doing green all through out.

Hey everyone...
I know that many of you may have been checking in to see if I have updated my blog and I have sadly disappointed a lot of you, and myself for that matter....I think I have even caught myself a few times checking in to see if my own blog was updated.....DER!!!
Anywho...alot of things have happened, I don't remember all of them, but here are a few I can recall so sit back and enjoy!

* I have been scrapbooking the hell out of my wedding pictures. I have although taken a small break to refuel my creative energies. I will however be back on the "wagon" on the 25th when I meet up with my sis-in-law and her sister and sis-in -law. So until then my dear scrapbook, rest up!
* We restarted training with Zoey. She's so smart, you wouldn't think that is the case by witnessing her act like a crazy, overly happy, kiss you in the mouth at the right time, loopy pup. But, she is ahead of schedule and we are working hard on our weekly homework to get her in tip top shape for her Tuesday night classes.
* Mike and I have put together a "to do list" for the house. For example: looking for bedroom furniture, new window treatments, possible wood floors, tile for the bathroom and the backsplash in kitchen and ....
* PAINTING. I finished the primer tonight for the living room accent wall. I will be finishing it tomorrow morning. It will be a sweet color, it's name is Bonfire. Ummmmm........ We are also going to be repainting the upstairs bathroom and refreshing the yellow in the downstairs bathroom. I'm excited.
* My Great Aunt Helen just turned 90!! You go Helen!!
* Grey's anatomy is an excellent show for those of you who don't already know that. It started a 3 part storyline this week with a cruiseliner that crashed and flipped over a ferryboat in very dense fog. The show is based in Seattle. It is McAwesome! <-----Nerdy, I know!
* Got 2 pair of nice pants at the REI 50% off Clearance sale for a total of 30.00. The pants were normally $56.00 a piece. Very nice, very....nice!!
* I am not surprised about the recent loss of our nations icon, Anna Nicole.....yeah, right! But I am very sad for her little girl who has no idea who her daddy is. Now that's sad. My thought is, if that little girl is worth as much as they say ( 454 million--which I think is still pending anyway) I think all of our guy friends should come out and atleast give it a shot to say they could be the daddy too! Who knows.....it could happen, just like the powerball.
* I'm excited for the Grammy's...I have no idea why. I'm not routing for anyone in particular, but I always like to watch for the fashion and stupid things people say in their acceptance speeches. ( famous presenter line: " Do you like my body?" RIP Anna)

Weekend update:

We went to the Sportsman Show this Sat. at the RiverCentre in St. Paul.
They had some new campers that were pretty sweet. Some of them even had pop-up tents on the ends over the beds, quite interesting. The tents were made by ThermaRest.
We also looked at some boats that were alittle pricey. Some real nice Lund boats. Yeah, we're sticking with good ole' Suck My Wake!
Then we literally cruised through the thousands and thousands of people who weren't sure how to walk correctly through the isles of Campground & fishing resorts/mini 4 wheelers for your little ones, Reed's sporting goods, etc..... People are DUMB!!
Then we went over to Patrick McGovern's Pub off of W. 7th St. Mike had turkey burrito and a large gallon of Smithwicks followed by a pint of 1/2 and 1/2. I had a delicious Davey C's Chx sandwich ( chx, pepp, mozz cheese, marinara sauce) and a gallon of Mich Gold Light. Yummm!!
We're going to try and eat at all the places on W. 7th St. We want to hit up the Brewery in the old Hamm's building. Sounds like a nice place.
Today Mike is working and I'm watching the dog. We're going to Farm and Barn later and then we're going to take the dog to PetSmart for a new training backpack.
I'm in a real big choc. chip cookie crave right now, so I'm making and eating them at the same time. They're delish!!

This year Mike had a genius idea (way to go Hun) about taking separate pictures of our family members with a cloth background, only to photoshop it later (only Mikey possesses those mad skillz in the family) Oh man, this was way easier than last year, and to think we only had Libby to deal with then. Who, by the way, hated to sit still for the picture we took about 40 times just to get it right and even then Mike looked cancerous with his short, newly shaven head....you really did look fine hun!!

Having fun on our carriage ride. Poor Mikey and Kathy's legs, they each had to have a half of my ass on their leg. They said the carriage would hold up to 6 adults...yeah, each side held 2 comfortably. We had fun though.

Reading my blog is like getting the female and better perspective of Mikey B's blog, so here we go... :)
So we went to Chicago to Mike's parents house. They live in Elmhurst in the western suburbs.
We got in Weds night around 12:30. The dog did great for the ride, as we thought she would since she loves "jeep" rides.
Thanksgiving morning was watching the annual Macy's parade on T.V. and planning out the day's menu and when this has to go in the oven, and when this has to come out of the oven, and so on and so on.....
Dinner was excellent per usual. Turkey, stuffin',taters, rolls that looked like buttcheeks (even though we did bring the camera, we forgot to take any pictures...DER!!!) Post dinner was hanging out, watching whatever was on T.V and preparing with the ads for Friday's shopping adventures.
Friday morning we (Jill, Kathy and I) were out the door by 8:15. First stop was Kohl's. We got some good deals on toys and baby outfits. I also got my christmas gift early from Bob and Kathy. The beautiful empire red, 5 quart, 10 speed Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer. It is soooo nice and I am going to love it forever and ever!! It was an unexpected surprise when Kathy said "go pick out the one you want"

We ended up going to WalMart and again we got some good earlybird specials on toys and DVDs. By the way, we were the minorities here, not that we minded, but I refreshed my spanish a little.
Next it was off to Portillo's restaurant. I suggest you eat here when you are in the Chicago area, it is delish!! Chicago dogs, chili cheese fries, italian beef sandwiches, malts that are chocolate cake flavored, yeah!!

Saturday consisted of more shopping, just Kathy and I. We went to Hobby Lobby (big craft supply store, puts Michaels to shame!) and we also went to the "outside" mall. We also made the boys jealous by eating some delicious snacks at White Castle.
Saturay night we headed down to Chicago. It was a blast. I have never seen so many people. The streets we littered with people. It drove Mike crazy, but it was fun to be a part of the massive post T-day crowds in downtown Chiago. We saw the 4 story Crate and Barrel store, the 3 story American girl doll store (YIKES!!), John Hancock Building, NikeTown etc...
We also went on a horse drawn carriage ride around town. Our driver was full of stories (i.e: her mom drove limo for Oprah for 17 years, her best friend dates David Blaine, she was at the Playboy Mansion for Halloween and met Hugh Hefner, blah blah blah)
We then went down to Millineum Park to see "the bean" Very cool.

Sunday we left for home, again the dog did great.

She's our smart little girl. She won the puppy olympics and got the ribbon! She did pretty well for wearing her cap. She did want to eat it once it came off her head. We have more training in the future, we restart on the 2nd of January.

Here Zoey is asking Libby if she can see the popcorn hull that's stuck in the back of her throat. I think Libby responded in a smartass tone "Your breath smells like poo" and then Zoey got upset and chased after Libby saying "Yeah...your poo, you like that hairball?!"

I thought I would put an updated picture of our crazy child on here.
She's doing quite well in her dog classes. She's learning a bunch of things. Mike and I are striving for her to be Valedictorian of her class. Her only down falls are she jumps on people when excited (were working on that), she sometimes pulls on her leash ( that's a NO NO) and she doesn't do "lay down" without a treat. Other than that, she is doing very well. Graduation is this next Weds. So we will put up a "graduation" picture of her once we get one.

Coming into Memphis, TN. To the left you will see the Pyramid. They have concerts and such events there. It's kinda weird, you'd think you would only see that in Vegas.

Hard Rock Cafe....the sweet potato fries were awesome!!

Carol and Pam infront of the fountain in the Peabody Hotel. They have ducks that basically live there. They feed them and roll out a red carpet for them twice a day so they can venture up the elevator to ride up to the penthouse swimming hole at the top of the hotel. Rooms start at $265/night.

Here we are outside of Graceland. We were disappointed. It cost $22/person just to see the house. Boooo!!!

Yeah...we signed the wall. I don't think Elvis will mind though.

Trautman Cousins

I can't leave these guys out too. They were here from California in August. We had a great time. We went to the Science Museum of Minnesota and saw the BodyWorlds exhibit. We went to the Mall of America for school clothes. WoW, clothes are expensive and have very little fabric to them these days. I guess I like my good old Gander Mountain gear, target tees and Walmart jeans (haa haa).

Alicia and Heather at the Mall of America. It was pretty exciting for them. They got to tell all their jealous friends back home in CA that they went shopping.

If you look close, you will see my Aunt Rozy screaming. She's the one in white between the two girls. The funny thing is, the ride hadn't started yet.

We also went on some rides at Camp Snoopy. We rode the Log water flume, the RipSaw Rollercoaster and they went on the Mighty Axe. Next time we'll have to do 2 days and see more of it.

Nordmeyer Cousins

I will catch you up with the story of my Nordmeyer side of my family. My dad had one brother named Don. He passed away in April of 91. He was 11 years older than my dad and had always lived in the southeast (Tenn, West Virginia, Virginia, Arkansas-being the last place) He was married to my Aunt Carol (who is from Tennesee) and they had 4 kids; Penny, Patrick, Pamela and Paul. The last time I saw my cousins, the younger 2 (Pam and Paul) I was probably ~10 yrs old. Paul and I are the same age, he's ~4 months older. Pam is 3 yrs older then Jason. I met my 2 older cousins (Penny and Pat) but I was maybe a year old, so I don't remember them. I only remember them through pictures and stories. They are all that we have left of my dad's immediate family. My Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Don all passed away in a 4 year time span. Man that was damn hard. So you can only imagine the overwhelming excitment,happiness, sadness,anxiety that we were all feeling about this much needed trip to see them after all these years.
It wasn't but maybe 3 years ago that my dad got a christmas card from my cousin Penny. She is one tough Mama, taking names and kicking ass....LOVE IT!! She looks and reminds me of my Grandma, so does Pam. They are both so beautiful. Anywho, her card really woke us up to the fact that it had been way too damn long and there was no more excuses not to get together. So there began the planning for our Arkansas trip. It was way too short (as all trips are), but we loved every minute of the time we had together. It was the hardest thing to leave that house and wave goodbye, I already miss them so much. I wanted to spend more time, but we'll have to see about a Minnesota trip for them, maybe next year!! Here's hoping!! Enjoy some pictures.

Yee haw!! We are finishing up a wonderful time on our family vacation (as you may or may not be keeping tabs on over at Mikey B's blog, if you haven't-what's wrong with you?)
Anywho, I'm going to do my own version, the long version of our trip (as us women always like to write novels). Hope you enjoy! I'll break it up a bit.

Here we are having lunch on the road in Funks Grove, IL. Thanks Mom for the samwitches, they were yummy. This is where we saw all the weird animals that were being walked (see Mikey's blog)

Eating delicious Nibs in the truck waiting for the damn train that was about 8 years long. Jason got stuck on the other side of the tracks, we didn't want to lose him getting to the arch.

Yeah! Pictures at the Arch. We waiting in line to go underground to the giftshop/museum area. We went through metal detectors and our bags/cameras/phones did as well too. I had to take my belt off and show them my lower legs...yep, the found the grenade launcher...poo!

Cotton fields of Arkansas. It was pretty interesting, atleast to those of us who have never before seen cotton fields. It's the fabric of our lives! It lined the roadsides like snow in some areas.

My question to mother time: why is it that it always takes longer to get to your vacation destination and shorter to get back to reality??

Cripes!! I can't ever remember to write on my blog.
I promise, I will try harder.
Ok, here's a quick run through what has happened since my last entry:
*work, work, work
*I really am trying not to kill my dog ( I know, don't say that)It's hard remembering that she's just a puppy. I expect too much from her, and I know that's not fair. I had a dog for almost 14 years and it's been awhile since I have had a puppy. Man, I feel retarded sometimes. I know I have talked about this before, but I feel the same. We are making progress with commands. Training classes, here we come!!
*We're getting ready for our road trip to Arkansas next month. I still f**king hate hotels.com. I highly do not recommend them! They have your money by the balls and will not let go no matter what, even if your mom has surgery. Eat monkey shit!
*My friend, Lisa, had her wedding on Sept 16th. It was held out at Gale Wood's Farm in Minnetrista. It was a gorgeous day. We had alot of fun. I drank alot!
*We went to the annual Ren Fest. Man is that a delicious tradition we have started. We always get the following (and then some): soup in bread bowl, cheese curds, beer, frozen orange slices, apple dumpling with ice cream, etc... The following activities are always enjoyed: jousting, tomato throwing, watching strange people in their equally strange outfits, watching glass blowing and the glory hole. This year was the first year I had seen the Dew Drop Jugglers. It was because of Mick (memeber of the trio) that we were able to go, free of charge. So a big shout out to him and his wife, Kirstin! Also, Andy and James beat boxed with some wenches.
* We had the end of summer BBQ at the house. Too bad it frickin rained! Good times bitches!
*I got new comfy seats for my intrepid. I will miss Kalvin when we get a new car next year. I still don't know what I want. Something reliable, good priced, easy to maintain, I'm sure something that can transport kids/pets/rock landscaping/kegs of beer.... to be continued...
*I jammed out today at Best Buy with Jason on the new guitar game for Playstation 2. Have you heard of it? It's like guitar karaokee (sp?) It's hand/eye coordination to the extreme. There's some sweet graphics if I may add.
That should be enough for awhile.

OH boy.....who knew that a little creature could turn your world upside down and inside out. Man, she is cute, but ask Mikey, she can drive me to drink sometimes. It has been over 14 years since I had a puppy. I don't remember shit sometimes. She's learning lots of things and is as happy as can be. I don't think she realizes yet what a good home she has stumbled into, am I right?

Up North

I can't wait to get back up north. We had such a blast camping in Cloquet, minus the annoying Iron Range mining trains that were 100 feet from our campsite every hour to 1 1/2 hours....I may be exaggerating on the time, but it sucked.
We're planning on going back, but the next time we will camp at Jay Cooke State park. We're standing on the swinging bridge in the park which was updated to it's current state back in the 70's. Just beyond us on the rocks, there are oodles (yes I said oodles) of names carved, mostly those of lovers... the oldest we found was Darlene & Hugo, 1962. That's pretty cool if you ask me. Maybe next time we'll carve our names....Sassy and Bucky, 2006. <----- don't ask, really.
